After an active week, we enjoyed a free day yesterday. Some went to Versailles, others stayed local and walked to an open market and saw Parisian life on Sunday's. We are next to the Parc de Vincennes, larger than Central Park, so we saw a classic car show behind the chateau, picnics and families at leisure next to the lake, and many many walkers, bikers, runners and scooters. Steve and I met up with a dear friend for lunch. Several of us ended the afternoon painting in our journals in the court yard of our hotel. Most of us found bistros facing the chateau and enjoyed a late dinner, some eating outside.
I didn't get close up photos of everyone's paintings, but I will. Here are some of mine.
While we were painting in the courtyard, Gwenaelle, the concierge, came out and took our photos to put on the hotel Facebook page! She has been so helpful since the beginning planning the trip. I had to have a photo with her. Hotel de donjon is amazing!
We visit the Louvre today. Tomorrow we take the train to La Souterainne.
